{ Worksheet #3 Re-Discover Me}
Do you like you? Do you know what you really want to do? When you don’t know or aren’t closely connected to “you”, you can get frustrated easily following behind others. When we don’t know what we want and we get a glimpse of someone having what we “think” we want for our lives, we try to emulate them. We try to do what we think they are doing, we strive for the goals we think they are striving for.We are hoping in some way to try and transfer their happiness and success into our own lives without knowing if that’s what we even want.
Don’t feel bad. We’ve all done it- trust me. But, all of this wastes time, gets us frustrated and still keeps us away from getting the type of life that we want.
I’ve spent so much time focusing on you finding you, because once you leave this course, you WILL know what you want, which in turn, makes it easier to reach the goals you set for yourself.
So, what if you’re in a place where you don’t know or need to re-discover yourself? What do you do? Here are a few ideas to get moving, to opening your mind and thoughts. Then you will need to spend some time working on some REALLY deep questions and answers on your Re-Discover You Worksheet.
Go a new way home
Turn off the news and negative info for 1 week
Take up a creative hobby that makes you use your hands
Consider playing an instrument ( the reason I took up guitar 3 years ago)
Do a new activity this weekend. Check out the calendar for the your city and do something that you’d usually never consider doing.
Dance to some really loud music that you love. Also, listen to some new music… country anyone?
Read a new book this week
Ask Yourself These Questions: ( Then answer them on the Re-Discover Me worksheet )
- Who am I?
- What are my values?
- Think back to a time when you were happiest. What were you doing?
- What in your immediate surroundings makes you happy and why?
- The last time you were really upset, what made you that way?
- If you were to write how you feel right now and you knew that absolutely no one would ever read it, what would you write?
- If you had an extra hour in each day, what activity would you do with it?
- What do I cherish?
- What makes me feel accomplished?
- The dreams that you had growing up, think back to them and ask yourself, which of them still moves you to this day? How you could incorporate them into your life now?
So after looking at your answers from this exercise, do you feel more in touch with you? Can you tell what is a strong path or paths that you should follow?
